Redstone Armada

This is a great idea of mine (modest eh?)!

basically, you get two large wooden ships, one for each person/team. Then you mod it, adding in particular dispensers and circuits all controlled by the cabin.

Once ready, the two people/teams pull levers or push buttons in the cabin to trigger say flood gates or to fire broadsides.

Victory is decided by points: whoever gets the most points wins. See below on how to get them. You can also win by forcing the enemy captain to abandon ship.

The rules are as follows:

  • No leaving the cabin: if the captain leaves the cabin it is classed as”abandoning ship” and you therefore give your opponent 100 points and victory.
  • The captain MUST have nothing in his inventory. All he can do is push buttons and switch levers.
  • dispensers can have a maximum amount of 64 projectiles in them each. Wether this is 64 arrows, 32 arrows 32 firecharge or a random mixture of them is okay, so long as it totals 64.
  • The ships must be made of flammable materials only.
  • Ships must have the below:

You need to know the anatomy of the ship. Every ship must have a core (3x3x3 block of TNT shielded by glass), a cabin (where the captain is) and sails.

First, lets look at point subtraction. When making your ship, there is no limit to how big it is, so long as it follows the above rules.

However, you can’t just make a massive island sized ship full to the brim with guns, you have to “pay” points per gun.

For every dispenser in your ship: -5 points

-5 extra if it has firecharge in it (arrows are free)

If you have a water system (e.g floodgate) then: -20 points per system (-50 if its one large system) Take away -10 and -40 respectively if it is an ice system

For every sail missing (if you can fit another sail in and choose not to):

-20

Now lets look at point additions. These are awarded by making it easier for your opponent or restricting yourself.

If your boat is smaller than your opponent:

You get an “agility” boost: an extra 10 points is added to every gain. This puts immense pressure on people to keep their circuits and ships small.

If your core is bigger:

Should your core be, say 4x4x4 (it must be a perfect cube) then you get a bonus of ten times whatever the sides are. (e.g 4x4x4= 40 points 6x6x6= 60 points)

If you out sail your opponent:

Should your boat have more sails than your opponent, then you get a speed boost. (same as agility bonus). Sails are a grey area, and the judge will have to decide about missing sails and speed boosts.
